Birmingham City are interested in a Premier League attacker as they attempt to strengthen their team ahead of the forthcoming League One season.
The Blues appear to be one of the busiest sides in League One this transfer window, having already added many new players to new boss Chris Davies’ roster ahead of a potential promotion campaign. They will play in English football’s third tier for the first time in nearly 30 years, after being relegated last season after 29 years in the top two divisions.
Their roster has been strengthened by the signing of prolific striker Alfie May, who was League One’s top scorer last season. According to Football Insider, the Premier League team is considering loaning the 21-year-old out again this season. However, any potential move involving the English forward is contingent on the loanee club matching his parent club’s requirements for adequate first-team play.
Moving to St Andrew’s may not be an appealing option for Barry, given Villa’s history as one of Birmingham City’s toughest rivals. Blues may be the 21-year-old’s third Midlands club.

While Chris Davies’ side could be a step forward in Barry’s development, as you would expect Unai Emery and his team to want, a loan spell for the forward may not meet Aston Villa’s first-team needs, with a return to Stockport County also being considered in the past.
