According to Fabrizio Romano, Rennes has reached an agreement with Birmingham City to sign midfielder Jordan James (20).

The EFL League One club has accepted Les Rouges et Noirs’ bid for the Welsh international, which was submitted this morning.

The Ligue 1 team is already in contact with James’ entourage to negotiate personal terms. An agreement on personal terms is said to be close. Once conditions are completed, the 20-year-old will travel to Northern France to complete his transfer to the Breton club.

For his age, James has a lot of first-team experience from his childhood club. The Welshman made his professional debut for City at the age of 17, and he has since made 105 first-team appearances for the St Andrews club. He has 11 goals and two assists for the Midlands-based club. The midfielder has 11 international appearances for Wales.
