Birmingham City star vows to do whatever it takes for the…

George Hall is ready to go far for the remainder of the Sky Bet Championship season.

The Blues’ 19-year-old, who signed a new three-year contract last September, has had an injury-plagued 2023/24 season but hopes to finish on a high note.

Since returning to the First Team at the beginning of March, he has appeared in five consecutive games until being an unused substitute at Queens Park Rangers on Friday, and he will be aiming for further playing time when Preston North End visits St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park on Monday, April 1 at 3pm.

Speaking to Blues News at the Birmingham City Elite Performance and Innovation Centre, Hall expressed his desire to play a role in propelling Birmingham City up the table and keeping the squad on the right side of any narrow margins between now and May.

“We’re not getting the results we want right now, but we have a talented enough squad to win games. It’s all about finding the correct formula. Personally, I’m working hard to regain full health and contribute as much as can to the squad, playing in whatever position and completing whatever job is required. As long as it helps the team win, I’m not too concerned; all I want to do is come back and assist the team win games.

“It’s been difficult since a lot of recent games have been quite tight. Sometimes games are decided by a lucky decision or a nice bounce of the ball. For us, we need to make things happen, maybe receive a little luck, and then develop momentum and stay on course by doing the right things.

Gary Rowett will return to the home dugout in B9 for the first time since 2016, having been appointed Interim Manager during the recent Men’s international break.

Hall has described how the 50-year-old came to work with the players and what expectations he has for them.

“He’s got to get to know everyone quite soon. He understands what we can do. It’s all about achieving outcomes now. He expects us to work hard and do what he wants on the training pitch. I’m confident the results will come.”
