Birmingham City Star Insisted On Nottingham Forest Move

According to The Telegraph, Nottingham Forest are interested in Birmingham City star Jordan James.

Birmingham City will have a battle to keep the midfielder this summer, as rival sides further up the football pyramid express interest. Following their relegation from the Championship alongside Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United, the Midlands club is preparing for life in League One under new manager Chris Davies.

James, 19, rose through his current club’s academy ranks and was a regular at several youth levels before breaking into the main team. He is currently one of their most valuable assets, and he is a wanted man during the transfer window.

The Telegraph reports that he is coveted by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Last season, Nuno Espirito Santo kept the Reds in the top division.

Birmingham City ace eyed

James is under contract with Birmingham City until 2025, therefore his long-term future is uncertain.

They risk losing him in 12 months if they don’t cash in now or in January.

It is difficult to picture him playing in the third tier, therefore most signals lead to him leaving.

Nottingham Forest may consider him as a player who can give competition and depth to their midfield options.

The Wales international, who has 11 caps to date, broke into the Blues’ first team in 2021 and hasn’t looked back.

He has made 105 appearances for them in all competitions and has scored 10 goals.

James was a shining light for Birmingham City last season, despite their difficult record, scoring eight goals in 47 games.

The Blues will want to get the best contract possible for the teenager, given Nottingham Forest’s interest.

They are not the only team who have expressed an interest in him. According to journalist Alan Nixon on Patreon, West Ham and Leicester City have also been suggested, as well as Atalanta in Serie A.
