Birmingham City have filed their squad list for the first half of the 2024/25 season to the EFL.

Birmingham City has submitted a 21-man squad list to the EFL following the close of the transfer window.

League One clubs are permitted to register 22 players, with a minimum of eight homegrown stars. Any player born on or after January 1, 2003 is considered an under-21 player and does not need to be registered.

The only conspicuous exclusion is Alfie Chang. The 22-year-old midfielder was left out of the squad as he continues his recovery from a long-term knee ailment.

Chang was seriously injured in August 2023 and has yet to return to competition. He has not trained with Chris Davies’ squad this summer and will not make a first-team appearance until January, when squads can be reshuffled.

Fourteen members of the Blues’ roster are homegrown, including Austrian defender Christoph Klarer, who spent four years with Southampton before turning 21. Krystian Bielik, the Blues’ captain and Poland international, is likewise a native product who spent his formative years at Arsenal.
