Birmingham City are interested in signing Aynsley Pears, a goalkeeper from Blackburn Rovers, during the summer transfer window.

At 25, Pears is about to enter his peak years, but he already has a lot of experience, which is a plus.

Obviously, there is a long time between now and the summer, and things can change, but this appears to be a great pickup for the Blues if they can close the deal.

From the player’s standpoint, the opportunity to work with Mowbray again may be appealing, and he may perceive Birmingham as a team on the rise if things go well under new ownership.

Blues and Pears, both in the bottom part of the rankings, are focusing solely on retaining their Championship status.
