According to BirminghamLive, Sivasspor will face competition from an undisclosed team in their pursuit of Birmingham City midfielder Juninho Bacuna.

The Turkish Super Lig club recently had a bid accepted for the midfielder as they try to woo him to Turkey. However, if they are to sign him, they must first turn down interest from another team.

Bacuna, 26, is under contract with Birmingham City until June 2026, thus he still has one year left on his contract. They risk losing him for free in 12 months if they don’t cash in on him now or in January, presuming he doesn’t sign an extension soon.

BirminghamLive’s most recent update on his condition indicates that a new club is interested in signing him. At this point, it is unknown who they are or which country they play in.

Birmingham City midfielder latest

Following Birmingham City’s relegation to League One, it appears like Bacuna will quit the club soon.

They dropped out of the Championship after finishing in the bottom three alongside Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town.

Offloading Bacuna would help the Blues’ finances, although his eventual destination is currently unknown.

He joined the Midlands club in 2022 and has since become a crucial player.

The Curacao international has made 111 appearances in all competitions and scored 13 goals, nine of which came last season.

He began his senior career at FC Groningen and quickly rose through the ranks before being enticed by Huddersfield Town to move to England.

Bacuna then played 107 games for the Terriers and scored 12 goals.

Rangers enticed him to Scotland in 2021, but he only stayed for six months before being re-signed by Birmingham City.

Where next for Birmingham City man?

Sivasspor has recently signed Alex Pritchard from the Blues and hopes to add Bacuna next.

However, another side has entered the race, and his future is uncertain.
