Birmingham City Legend Issues Come-and-get-me appeal amid managerial uncertainty

Paul Robinson has confirmed his availability to rejoin Birmingham City’s coaching staff after leaving for the second time last weekend.

The former Blues defender was appointed as interim manager Gary Rowett’s regular assistant for the final eight games of the previous season. In the end, Birmingham and the temporary crew were demoted, but Robinson is still eager to continue his work.

Although Robinson is officially off the books again due to the short duration of his re-employment, he adores the club and is anxious to get part. The difficulty is that there is no official strategy in place for the managerial situation, and Tony Mowbray is still on leave due to sickness.

Of course, the aim is for Mowbray to return to full health as soon as possible, and everyone’s warmest wishes are with the 60-year-old. However, Birmingham needs an answer sooner rather than later, with a crucial summer coming to offer the team the best chance of bouncing straight back from League One to the Championship.

Robinson is in no haste since he is aware of the challenging and unprecedented position. The 45-year-old, like every other Bluenose, is devastated by the club’s relegation, but he has opted to publicly express his desire to be a part of its future.

Robinson wrote on Instagram, “I’m sorry we weren’t able to do what we had hoped for this great club, it hurts.” It’s been a difficult year for everyone, particularly Tony, who is an excellent manager, and I hope to see him back on the Blues’ sideline soon.

“While it’s difficult to understand right now, we must trust that everything happens for a reason.” As always, I plan to think on what I could have done differently in such a short period of time.

“I believe this club will come back larger and stronger; the owners have stated their goals, they have a strategy, and it’s an exciting time for everyone involved. I’d love to be a part of the rebuild. I’d want to thank everyone for your unfailing support; you always brought the noise!”
