Birmingham City is still seeking to add players in the last days of the summer transfer market.

Birmingham City are allegedly in talks to sign midfielder Taylor Gardner-Hickman from Championship club Bristol City.

The Blues are looking for a new midfielder following the departure of Wales international Jordan James, and Gardner-Hickman fits the bill. The 22-year-old possesses some of the combative, muscular traits that James brought to the Blues before moving to Rennes.

Gardner-Hickman joined the Robins from West Bromwich Albion last summer, initially on loan before making the transfer permanent in January. Last season, he made 22 Championship starts and 14 substitute appearances.

But Bristol City manager Liam Manning has other options in midfield and is happy to let Gardner-Hickman go. According to the Bristol Post, the Blues are in talks to sign the midfielder.

If Gardner-Hickman signs, he will become the Blues’ 12th signing during an unusually active summer transfer window. Chris Davies, the new manager, has rebuilt the squad that was relegated last season with a series of signings.

After signing a midfielder, the Blues are anticipated to prioritise a new centre-back and centre-forward for the remainder of the window.
