Birmingham City has joined Sunderland in the hunt for La Liga forward

According to TEAMtalk, Birmingham City have entered the market to capture Sunderland-linked Sevilla forward Musa Drammeh.

Birmingham City are yet to catch their stride under new manager Wayne Rooney, and they will likely look to the January transfer market for reinforcements to assist them climb the table.

Drammeh, 22, has been impressing in Sevilla’s B Team and is on the verge of being called up to the first team. His exploits have piqued the interest of teams, with both the Blues and rival Championship side Sunderland interested, according to TEAMtalk.

The attacker has five goals and two assists in 13 appearances this season and can play both right wing and through the middle. His shape and adaptability might make him a valuable addition to any team that signs him.

He is entering into the final six months of his current contract and so the Championship duo, should they pursue a move, will be hoping to land the player for a cut-price fee in January or for free in the summer.

Low-risk, high-reward

A player like this would not come cheap for Birmingham City. He is unproven at the senior level and would be a low-risk transfer for the Blues if this one goes through. However, with this comes the prospect of a large prize.

Given his talent and the fact that he is on the cusp of being called up to Sevilla’s first-team squad in La Liga, Birmingham City will be hoping he can fulfill that promise at St Andrew’s.

However, with Sunderland also interested, this could prove to be a stumbling block in Rooney’s discussions. Despite having a youthful lineup, the Black Cats have achieved success. Drammeh may believe that moving to the Stadium of Light will give him a better chance of playing time and success, but only time will tell.
