“Biggest Decision…”: Green Bay Packers Interest In The Pursue 25-Year-Old Offensive Threat

In just two weeks, the Green Bay Packers have forced themselves into the NFC playoff picture.

The Packers are comfortably positioned as the eighth seed in the NFC after back-to-back victories. The Minnesota Vikings (6-5) and Seattle Seahawks (6-5) are in front of the Packers (5-6).

With the offense starting to click, the front office will probably keep constructing for the future. One of those players might be a 25-year-old running back who is a possible Aaron Jones replacement.

The Green Bay Packers Could Pursue Running Back Zack Moss In 2024 If They Prove To Be A Playoff Team

The NFL Staff at Bleacher Report recommended on Monday that Moss be pursued by the Packers for the upcoming season:

With A.J. Dillon being an impending free agent this offseason, Green Bay is expected to be looking for a ‘between the tackles’ type of running back this offseason. While at least part of the fanbase was hoping the team would be able to nab Jonathan Taylor, Taylor ended up signing a contract extension. So, how about settling for the Colts’ other running back?

While Taylor was on the PUP list to begin the campaign, Moss started the season hot with a couple of triple-digit rushing performances in the team’s first four games. He’s cooled off since Taylor returned to action, but the Utah product has already set career highs with 617 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns through Week 10.

Would The Packers Move On From Aaron Jones?

Regarding Aaron Jones, the running back for the Green Bay Packers, not many athletes have won over fans as much as Jones has. Jones not only ranks third on the team’s all-time rushing list, but he also uses his position to give back to the community. As though he couldn’t be more adored by Packers supporters, Jones accepted a $5 million salary reduction to stay with the team and assist them in re-signing other players this offseason.

Nevertheless, this season, the standout running back has sustained a number of fairly serious injuries. He had to deal with a hamstring injury that persisted for a while before moving on to an MCL injury that might require several weeks to heal. It might be challenging to keep him around this off-season given those two injuries and his $17 million cap hit for the following season. Not only would it not be shocking if the parties agreed on a revised contract, but it would also not be shocking if they decided to part ways.

It will certainly be one of the biggest decisions the Packers have to make this coming off-season.
