Big congratulations to Oklahoma Softball as they clinch two…

After winning the national title earlier this month, the Oklahoma Sooners softball team was nominated for two ESPY awards in 2024.

Patty Gasso’s team has been nominated for the Best Team award following a tremendous WCWS run with only one loss in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma is nominated for the award for the fourth year in a row. This includes last year’s snub, when OU did not win Best Team despite having only one loss all season and crushing the NCAA Softball competition while on a historic winning streak.

This season, the Sooners earned their eighth national championship, all with Gasso as head coach, dating back to 2000. OU has won the previous four championships and six of the last eight.

Senior Jayda Coleman avenged the team’s only loss in the Women’s College World Series. Her walk-off home run in Game 3 versus Florida earned her a Best Play nomination.

The 2024 ESPYS will air live on ABC on Thursday, July 11, at 7 p.m. CT from Los Angeles. Fan voting is currently open for all categories and will run until July 11 at 4 p.m. CT.
