Big Congratulations To Ethan

Ethan Laird has been crowned the Blues’ PFA Community Champion for the 2023-24 season.

During his first year at Blues, after joining from Manchester United last summer, the defender has played an important role in the Birmingham City Foundation’s outreach efforts.

The 22-year-old has made several player visits and was part of the flagship partnership launch in December, when Balaam Wood Academy became the first Academy School. He also went to schools on World Book Day to meet and read to youngsters.

Speaking to BCFC.com after receiving the award, Laid emphasized his delight in being chosen as the winner, emphasizing the importance of players being involved in their local community.

“I’m overjoyed to receive the PFA Community Champion of the Year award. I believe that the community is an important part of why we play football, thus it is always beneficial to give back. I am really happy to be able to accomplish that!”
