Before Week 14, the Philadelphia Eagles are allegedly considering adding the top two players still available
According to reports, the Philadelphia Eagles are considering signing Zach Ertz, an elderly star, in addition to Shaquille Leonard.
The Eagles endured a severe blow in Week 12 when linebacker Zach Cunningham’s hamstring injury prevented him from playing in their eventual triumph over the Buffalo Bills. The defense will suffer greatly from his absence, for however long it lasts, as he leads the team in tackles this year.
It wasn’t shocking when it was reported earlier this week that the team was really interested in signing recently released former All-Pro Shaq Leonard after his unexpected release by the Indianapolis Colts, given the obvious need they now have.

But it appears Philadelphia is considering a few other recently released former stars to add to the roster for Week 14. This week, the Cardinals released veteran tight end Zach Ertz after he spent nearly three seasons in Arizona.
After Ertz was moved from Philadelphia to Arizona in 2021, the Eagles are reportedly interested in getting back together with the three-time Pro Bowler, said ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter. The Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens are reportedly interested in adding the 33-year-old as well, according to Schefter.
After spending his first nine seasons in the league with the Eagles, Ertz is ranked second all-time in receptions in Eagles history. He is also among the top 10 in yards and touchdowns.
Dallas Goedert, the team’s current starting tight end, has missed the last two games and is not expected to play this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers.
