Atlanta Braves predicted pitchers and starting lineups vs. Houston Astros on April 15

The Atlanta Braves make their first visit to Houston since defeating the Astros in the 2021 World Series. After an exciting end to the Marlins series, Atlanta aims to build on that momentum in the series opener at Minute Maid Park.

Both clubs will wear the number 42 in tribute of Jackie Robinson’s legacy.

Probable starting pitchers

Darius Vines (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will make a spot start for the Braves, filling in for Spencer Strider, who is out for the season due to a UCL injury. He has done well for Triple-A Gwinnett in his two outings, posting a 3.75 ERA. Hopefully, he can get through five innings for the Braves, giving them a chance to win the first game. When he’s at his best, Vines relies heavily on ground ball outs, but this season he’s been swinging and missing a bit more.

Spencer Arrighetti (0-1, 21.00 ERA) comes into this start with a very high ERA after being roughed up by the Royals in his first appearance of the season. Kansas City has been shockingly impressive to start the season, but the Braves’ lineup is a very different beast. In his Astros home debut, the rookie pitcher will undoubtedly face a difficult task.
