As unjust criticism is disregarded, Leicester City has warned that a key player “will be targeted.”

Harry Winks, a midfielder for Leicester City, “will be targeted” throughout the course of the season due to his exceptional talent in the Championship.

The former Tottenham player joined City over the summer in a £10 million deal and has already made 11 league appearances for them. He has already established himself as one of the top midfielders in the Championship, if not the best.

One former City player warned that Winks will be targeted by rival teams “over half” of the time he is in possession of the ball because of his recent form, which has caught the attention of opponent managers and players.

Ian Baraclough, a former defender for Leicester, has commented on Winks and disregarded any potential criticism of his sideways and backward passes. Baraclough was eager to defend the inappropriateness of the remarks.

According to Baraclough, “He will be targeted by the opposition,” he said on the podcast When You’re Smiling. It will be made clear to the players to surround him when he obtains the ball. I would hazard a guess that he will be under pressure from the opposition more than 50% of the time he receives it.

“Okay, you might say that he sometimes plays his passes sideways and backwards. He always tries to play positively and forward in the games I’ve seen him play live. I notice his movements, when he receives the ball, and his body shape when he does. Whether it’s to Wilfred Ndidi or Dewsbury-Hall, he aims to play those diagonal little connection passes.
