Arkansas basketball announces signing of former Kentucky star

On Wednesday, the University of Arkansas revealed that former Kentucky freshman big man Zvonimir Ivisic had signed with Razorbacks head coach John Calipari.

Ivisic reportedly used the NCAA transfer site on April 13. He made a verbal commitment to Arkansas on Monday.

“Big Z!! “I’m so excited to see how good he can become when he finally has a full summer and preseason to practice with our team,” Calipari wrote on social media after the announcement.

Ivisic, 7-2 and 234 pounds, of Vodice, Croatia, played the second half of the season with the Wildcats after being deemed eligible on January 20. He played 11 minutes per game and averaged 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks.

He had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist, and 1 steal in a 111-102 victory over Arkansas on March 2 in Lexington, Kentucky.

On3.com ranked Ivisic as the No. 38 player in the transfer marketplace.

Ivisic, who will turn 21 in August, averaged 11.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.4 blocks per game for Croatia at the FIBA U20 European Championship, shooting 34% from three.

He is Calipari’s first pledge and signee at Arkansas since his hiring on April 10.
