The player in issue has finally shared his side of the tale.

Arijanet Muric of Ipswich Town has spoken out after being sent home from his national team’s training camp for allegedly ‘breaching regulations’.

The 25-year-old departed Burnley this summer to join the newly promoted Tractor Boys.

He was swiftly placed as Kieran McKenna’s first choice goalkeeper, starting their 5-1 loss to Manchester City and 1-1 draw with Fulham.

He is also the first choice goalkeeper for his national team, Kosovo, having earned 39 caps.

Muric started their 3-0 Nations League defeat to Romania on Friday, making five saves.

However, on Sunday, Kosovo reported that the goalkeeper and two of his teammates had been sent home for ‘breaching regulations’.

A statement from the Kosovan Football Federation read: “Arijanet Muic, Edon Zhegrova, and Florent Muslija have left the national team gathering due to violating the national team norms stipulated by the manager and the federation.

“The FFK executive committee will decide on further measures against the players in question.”

It was stated that the group stayed in a tavern past their permitted time.

However, Muric maintains the reports are ‘not real’ and ‘not fair at all’, claiming (via The Sun): “The decision for us was not fair at all, and the rumours that are circulating are not true at all.”

“We went out to get food and not to party.”

The Swiss-born goalkeeper will miss Kosovo’s Nations League match against Cyprus due to his removal from the national team’s training camp.

When he returns to England at Portman Road, he hopes to help Ipswich win their first Premier League game after failing to do it in their previous three efforts.

Kieran McKenna’s side will face Brighton at the Amex Stadium on September 14.
