Birmingham City come into this Easter Monday meeting after suffering a crushing defeat to QPR. The Blues gave up a 1-0 lead to lose 2-1, with Jimmy Dunne scoring the winner in the 92nd minute.
This means Gary Rowett and his team stay 21st in the Championship table. They are only out of the relegation zone by goal difference.
Preston North End, meanwhile, easily defeated Rotherham United. The Lilywhites scored all three goals in their 3-0 first-half victory at Deepdale.
Ryan Lowe’s side is still in contention for a play-off spot. They’re eighth in the Championship, five points behind the top six.

“There’s not much time for them to forget about it and reset either. Rowett will be hopeful of a successful return to St. Andrew’s, but Preston are in decent form and will be confident of another win.
“The visitors have won three on the bounce away from home while the hosts have lost three in a row at St. Andrew’s. That could pave the way for Preston to emerge victorious, dealing another huge blow to the Blues.”
