Earlier this week, the 23-year-old played for Burnley’s Under-21s and earned 30 minutes of play in his first match in four months.
Due to a significant hamstring injury that necessitated surgery, Obafemi has been out of action since June. The setback occurred when the player was traveling abroad for Republic of Ireland international duty.

“He had a pretty big injury during the international break during the summer, and for him he’s a player that relies a lot on his speed, so he’s had to work really diligently and he’s come back really well,” Kompany said when updating Obafemi’s fitness for this weekend’s matchup against Bournemouth.
“We’re going to have a good player back in the squad if he can maintain the trajectory he’s on now. He’s completed his first half hour and has a long way to go until he’s match fit.”
Connor Roberts, who received a red card against Brentford last week and is serving a one-match suspension, will not be available for the Clarets in other situations.
Nathan Redmond, who returned from injury last week, is also available.
Manuel Benson, Johann Gudmundsson, Hjalmar Ekdal, and Jordan Beyer are all anticipated to stay out of action.
In addition to the obvious red card, Kompany said, “we’re seeing the reappearance of some of the players that have been injured.” Obafemi is one example of an injury.”
“I believe the team is pretty much the same as it was before Brentford, but that could change in the next ten or so days.”
