Amazing Trade Proposal from the Chicago Bears Would Get Them a Huge Return in the NFL Draft of 2024

In the upcoming weeks and months, the Chicago Bears will have to make some difficult choices.

They must choose whether to retain Matt Eberflus as head coach. Insider leaks on the organization’s pursuit of possible replacements give weight to the notion that the current 7-22 coach’s demise is almost certain.

There’s good reason to think that starting quarterback Justin Fields might follow Eberflus if he’s let go.

However, the Bears organization will have a fantastic opportunity in the upcoming draft, regardless of whether Fields and Eberflus stay or depart. Chicago now has the No. 1 overall pick (after their trade with the Carolina Panthers from the previous season) and the No. 4 overall pick for themselves. They plan to front load talent by selecting six players in the first five rounds of the draft.

And the squad might even further maximize THAT if they play their cards well.

This is the point at which a really intriguing trade proposition is relevant.

The Chicago Bears Could Pull of a Massive Day-One Trade at the 2024 NFL Draft

The plan is for the New England Patriots, who currently hold the number two pick, to acquire the Bears’ first overall pick in exchange for it. The Bears would receive another Patriots pick (or two) later in the draft or potentially the following year in exchange for the trade.

Though not new, this idea is once again gaining traction as the organization seeks to restructure at the top without completely rebuilding from the bottom up.

The first round pick, third round pick, and fourth round pick of the Patriots in 2025 might be acquired by the Bears if they trade down to number two, according to NBC’s Alex Shapiro.

This plan is predicated on the idea that Justin Fields will continue to be the starting quarterback and the cornerstone of the attack. The Patriots would receive their choice of top quarterback picks, Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, in exchange for Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who Shapiro refers to as “as blue-chip as blue-chip gets.”

The 2024 first round selections would be essential pieces to the team’s offensive line, especially when combined with a projected selection of Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt in the fourth round.

The Bears still have the option of trading down to number two in return for a few extra draft picks, even if they choose to pass on Fields in favor of trying to choose one of the two outstanding quarterback prospects available.

Bearstalk.com’s Pete Martuneac imagines a situation in which they are still robbed in a trade with the Patriots. For further organizational depth, New England selected Drake Maye of UNC at number two overall, along with the second and third round selections.

All things considered, the Bears have a ton of alternatives in this year’s selection, and they have demonstrated their willingness to maximize a high overall pick with their incredible trade with the Panthers last season, which is currently paying off. We’ll see how everything turns out.
