All Lions: Baker Mayfield desires Ceedy Duce to see more films

Baker Mayfield responds to comments made last week by Lions safety.

After practice last week, Detroit Lions safety Ceedy Duce shared his thoughts on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ wide receivers unit.

Gardner-Johnson stated, “This group is probably one of the better groups we done faced all year, besides that Tampa group,” as reported by the Detroit News. “If you give that Tampa squad a good quarterback, it’s a fantastic group. (Mike) Evans, (Chris) Godwin, and (Russell) Gage make an excellent group. “I played against them for real.”

Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers quarterback, addressed Duce’s opinion at his media session ahead of their divisional round playoff meeting with Detroit on Sunday.

“I don’t think he’s watched much cinema, because he cited Russell Gage. We love Russell, but he hasn’t played a snap for us this year. He must be buzzing with all the preseason talk in the media, but he didn’t play our first game, so I’m thrilled to see him,” said Mayfield. “I think he’s a pretty talented player; he has been for a long time, and he’s had an impact on every side he’s played for. He’s a good player, but he just needs to do some more film study.”
