Alabama quarterback won’t commit to saying Michigan cheated

This past season, Jalen Milroe and the Alabama Crimson Tide faced off against the Michigan Wolverines.

The Tide and Wolverines faced in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Rose Bowl, with Michigan going on to win the CFP national championship over Washington.

Milroe didn’t throw a touchdown, didn’t rush for a touchdown, and was largely shut down by a dominating Michigan defense, but it doesn’t sound like he’s resentful now that we’re well into the offseason.

Milroe, who recently joined the “Bussin With the Boys” podcast, wasn’t interested in delving into the details with host Taylor Lewan, who played at Michigan from 2009 to 2013 before going on to have a successful NFL career.

“It doesn’t matter; they won,” Milroe stated (via On3). “They won.” “It doesn’t matter; they won.”

The Alabama quarterback is obviously choosing the high road. This is despite suspicions of cheating against Michigan last season, including a sign-stealing scheme that former head coach Jim Harbaugh may or may not have been aware of.

There was also the issue of recruiting during a COVID-19 dead time, which resulted in the institution being placed on a three-year probationary period by the NCAA, which included a fine, recruiting restrictions, and show-cause agreements for all parties involved.

Everyone except Harbaugh, who left town to join the Los Angeles Chargers, reached a deal.

“One former coach did not participate in the agreement, and that portion of the case will be considered separately by the committee on Infractions, after which the committee will release its full decision,” the statement from the NCAA read.

While the NCAA has yet to rule on Harbaugh, let us consider Alabama above all else.

It is a new day in Alabama. Nick Saban has retired, and Kalen DeBoer, Washington’s previous coach, is now in control in Tuscaloosa.
