Alabama player is been honored for the second year in a row

Will Reichard will be in Mobile this time.

The Alabama football kicker accepted an invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, according to the game’s social media pages on Saturday.

Reichard accepted his invitation before Alabama’s Sugar Bowl victory a year ago. But Reichard chose to return to Tuscaloosa and forego the annual showcase.

Reichard stated as a graduate student that he aimed to improve his touchback rate — he achieved a career-high 63.7% — as well as set a few records. Reichard will finish his career with the most points (539) of any player in college football history and the most 50-yard field goals (eight) in Alabama history.

Reichard, a Hoover native, has twice been a Lou Groza Award finalist. He converted 82 of his 98 field-goal attempts in his career. He’ll be known for the Tide’s steadiness in crunch time, his several double-digit field goal streaks, and his one tackle in the 2022 Iron Bowl.

Reichard is ranked fourth among kickers and punters in Mel Kiper Jr.’s latest mock draft and position rankings, and second among kickers behind Arkansas’ Cam Little. Joshua Karty of Stanford has also accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
