Alabama offensive lineman declares transfer portal intensions

One of Alabama’s offensive weapons is going to be lost. According to On3, Alabama offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett plans to enter the transfer portal. He will be eligible for three more years.

Pritchett appeared in all 13 games for Alabama this season, but his reps began to decline as the season progressed. He had redshirted a year at the school in 2022. Pritchett has good stature for the position, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 312 pounds. He is expected to attract a lot of interest from power 4 teams in the transfer marketplace. Pritchett explored Florida State and USC before committing to Alabama in high school.

Alabama enjoyed another outstanding season in 2023 and is vying for a national title as one of four teams in the College Football Playoff. Alabama made the playoffs as the fourth seed after defeating Georgia in the SEC Championship. Alabama enters the playoff with an overall record of 12-1, with their only loss coming early in the season versus Texas. Texas, as the third seed, is also in the playoffs.

In the national semi-finals, Alabama will face the No. 1 seed Michigan Wolverines. Michigan is 13-0 heading into the CFP.The Crimson Tide will enter that game without Pritchett, a four-star recruit out of high school. He went to Carver High School in Georgia for high school football.
