Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer fills up openings with blue-chip signings

Kalen DeBoer is adjusting into his new role as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Following Nick Saban’s surprising retirement earlier this month, the roster was losing talent – and not only for the NFL draft. Despite those losses, DeBoer is now on a recruiting hot streak. DeBoer and his team have re-committed five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams and recruited players from his former school, the Washington Huskies.

On Thursday, DeBoer and his team did it again. According to On3 recruiting guru Hayes Fawcett, four-star edge rusher Noah Carter has withdrawn from his commitment to Washington and will attend Tuscaloosa.

According to Blair Angulo of 247Sports, Carter is a promising prospect who has the ability to make an immediate impact at the elite Power Five level. That will certainly come in handy as standout pass rusher Dallas Turner prepares to enter the NFL draft.

Williams and Parker Brailsford are filling roster gaps after Isaiah Bond and Seth McLaughlin left for Texas and Ohio State, respectively.

Furthermore, with Jim Harbaugh’s departure to the Los Angeles Chargers, the Michigan Wolverines roster may suddenly be up for grabs. With this momentum, Alabama should be able to attract additional talented athletes searching for new opportunities.
