Alabama football’s 2025 recruiting class: where they rank

After collecting another excellent class during the 2024 cycle, Alabama football must now focus only on its 2025 recruiting class.

Kalen DeBoer, the Tide’s head coach, will have his first opportunity to recruit a full class during this cycle, and his first class is off to a good start with commitments from Myles Johnson and Anthony Rogers. Both are Alabama natives and four-star recruits. Their current class ranking is understandably low across numerous recruiting sources, since they lost several 2025 commits after Nick Saban announced his departure.

Rogers is currently the Tide’s highest-rated commit, and he is vying for the country’s top running back position. Despite switching from Pike Road High School to IMG Academy for his junior season, the dynamic running back has been a productive player throughout his high school career. He has the speed to get away from defenders, can run the ball with good balance and low to the ground, and has made plays as a receiver out of the backfield.

Johnson did not play for T.R. Miller during his junior year, but he received a committable offer from the Tide after working out in camp in front of Nick Saban last summer. As a linebacker, the 6-foot-1, 220-pounder is a strong run-stopper who pushes through blocks to get to the ball. He is also a punisher of ball carriers, as they routinely fall backward when he makes contact.

Moving forward, DeBoer and Alabama’s coaches hope to secure some 2025 talent at a variety of spots on both sides of the ball. This is still very early in the cycle, so there are many evaluations and relationships to be formed.
