Alabama deal implies ‘everything’ to 4-star in-state receiver

Marquez Daniel has demonstrated the ability to carry the torch as the next big-time wide receiver prospect from Alabama.

Daniel appears to be the next in line, following Julio Jones and George Pickens as well as some of Alabama’s most recent dynamic wide receiver prospects, Ryan Williams and Cam Coleman.

The Booker T. Washington product has received offers from several Division I college football programs, including Auburn, Penn State, and Tennessee. He is also rated as an early four-star prospect on several recruiting websites. The rising athlete is ultimately appreciative for the opportunity he has received thus far.

“It feels great; just have to stay humble, focused, and keep pushing,” Daniel told Touchdown Alabama.

Auburn is Daniel’s most recent offer, and he holds high regard for the program.

“It is a great school, a great football program and a great place to be,” Daniel added.

Alabama football is one of the programs that Daniel is currently interested in.

The Crimson Tide brought him to campus at the beginning of this month. During his stay, he had the opportunity to observe the Tide practice.

“The energy, how the coaches were intense and they were focusing on the small details,” Daniel stated when asked what he noticed most about the practice.

Alabama has not officially extended an offer to the in-state recruit, but one is likely in the near future. He believes he will hold it in great respect.

“It would mean everything,” Daniel explained.

Daniel has upcoming visits to South Florida, Central Florida, and the University of Florida.

The 6-foot-5 wide receiver’s second season was his most successful yet. He is a big playmaker at wide receiver who runs hard after the catch. He can create separation from his release and is a defensive mismatch against the majority of opponents.
