Alabama Cornerback Is Going To Be Playing For…

This season, Terrion Arnold has a special connection to the College Football Playoff.

Let’s begin with the obvious: Terrion Arnold is an All-SEC cornerback for the University of Alabama football team. When his college career is complete, he’ll most likely be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft. But, before being on campus in Tuscaloosa, Arnold was simply a youngster from Tallahassee, Florida, with an ambition of playing high-level college football.

Terrion Arnold reviewed the Tide’s march to the College Football Playoff on The Paul Finebaum Show recently, and he made it obvious that he has two strong reasons to beat Michigan in The Rose Bowl on January 1st.

I’m not going to argue if Terrion Arnold’s motivations are pure as he prepares for the greatest game of his life in just two weeks. He undoubtedly has far more pressing worries than the opinion of any unknown sports writer. But I can’t help but see some incorrect reasoning in his statements.

Please bear with me… If Alabama hadn’t upset the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game, Arnold’s hometown team, the undefeated ACC Champion Florida State Seminoles, would have been the fourth-seeded team in the College Football Playoff, avoiding a week of passionate and irritated debates about whether the College Football Playoff selection committee got it right.

But, once again, if this is what Terrion Arnold is telling himself to get that extra adrenaline going for a game against Michigan in the College Football Playoff semi-finals, I advise him to knock himself out.
