Alabama administrator  finish his coaching staff

Alabama head coach Klen DeBoer has announced the hirings of Bryan Ellis as tight ends coach, Chris Kapilovic as offensive line coach, and Christian Robinson as outside linebackers coach, marking the beginning of his tenure in Tuscaloosa.

“aWe were able to also secure three of the finest coaches in the nation to finish out our staff with the hiring of Bryan Ellis, Chris Kapilovic and Christian Robinson,” DeBoer said in a news release issued on Friday.

“Chis is one of the most recognized offensive line coaches in the game, known for recruiting and developing his players. Christian does an excellent job of developing relationships on both the recruiting trail and in his position room, where he gets the very best out of his players. Ellis is one of the top offensive brains in college football, and he is an excellent fit for our staff.”

Ellis arrives to Tuscaloosa after spending the previous two seasons as Georgia Southern’s offensive coordinator. Under Ellis, Georgia Southern’s offense ranked in the top 30 nationally in terms of completion percentage and passing efficiency.

Ellis was the quarterback coach at the University of Southern California in 2018, and he was instrumental in guiding then-USC quarterback Sam Darnold to the third overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

Kapilovic has joined the Crimson Tide after spending the previous two months at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Kapilovic was the offensive line coach, run-game coordinator, and associate head coach at Baylor before joining the Spartans, where he helped lead them to an 11-2 record in 2021.

His offensive line that season cleared the way for RB Kenneth Walker III, who won the Doak Campbell Award and was named Walter Camp Player of the Year.

Christian Robinson, like Kapilovic, joins the Tuscaloosa staff from Baylor University. Robinson coached the Bears’ inside linebackers for the 2023 season.

However, this is not Robinson’s first experience coaching in the Southeastern Conference or in Alabama. He became Auburn University’s linebackers coach in 2022 after previously serving in the same role for the Florida Gators for four seasons.

During Robinson’s four years at Florida, the Gators were fourth in the nation in sacks and forced 78 turnovers, ranking 26th in the country.
