“Agreement reached” – Liverpool have deal in place with star

Victor Osimhen of Napoli is attracting Liverpool’s serious attention, according to information we brought you earlier this week from Italy.

The striker’s current contract expires in 2025, and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made insinuations that the player may have decided against signing a longer term.

According to Italian journalist Valter De Maggio, quoted by Area Napoli on Televomero, Liverpool is the cause of the 24-year-old’s conversion to a different religion.

According to De Maggio, the Reds’ interest has caused the frontman and his agent, Roberto Calenda, to decide against signing an extension at the Naples club.

He goes on to say that Liverpool and the player have reached an agreement, and that for the trade to proceed, a deal with the Serie A winners must be reached.

“After the parties came to an understanding over the renewal, Calenda and Osimhen broke their word. What took place? An additional club from the Premier League was added. I am referring to Liverpool,” he uttered.

There would be regular communication, but I recently discovered that there would also be agreements in place. To be clear, Napoli would not be involved in the agreements as they would be between the Reds and the player. Although we can’t be certain, I hope Laurentiis will be able to hold Victor Osimhen until at least June.

Whether more Italian media outlets will support De Maggio’s Liverpool claim is yet to be seen.

Liverpool attempted to sign the Nigerian international during the same transfer window when he joined the Italian champions from Lille in 2020. Then, Calenda, his agent, disclosed this.

Osimhen helped Napoli win the championship last season with 31 goals and five assists. After ten games this season, he has six goals and one assist.
