Jacob Greaves has passed his medical at Ipswich Town ahead of a move from Hull City, Football Insider understands.

Both sides have reached a complete agreement, and personal details were agreed upon prior to the conclusion of medical testing.

Ipswich are expected to disclose their new signing within 24 hours.

According to sources, Greaves, 23, has signed a five-year contract with Portman Road that will keep him there until the summer of 2029.

On July 8, Football Insider reported that a physical had been scheduled for the centre-back, but they remained hopeful of his Hull teammate Jaden Philogene’s arrival.

Jacob Greaves set to sign for Ipswich Town after medical

Ipswich achieved promotion by finishing second in the Championship last season and have moved aggressively to bolster their squad.

Their first action this summer was to sign Kieran McKenna to a new contract amid interest from Chelsea and Brighton, and they have since moved on to the transfer market.

The Tractor Boys have already sealed the club-record signing of Omari Hutchinson following his successful loan spell, and Greaves is set to join him.

Greaves was an important member of Hull’s team that nearly lost out on the playoffs last season, earning a lot of attention in the Premier League.

However, it was Ipswich who acted rapidly to obtain his signature.

Philogene has also been a high-profile target for McKenna, but a late move from Aston Villa means the decision is no longer up to the club.

McKenna and the Portman Road recruitment team have selected younger candidates to strengthen their staff not only today, but also in the future.

They will be seeking to survive in the Premier League, and they believe Greaves will play an important role in achieving that goal.
