After a 2-2 tie, Moyes’ words indicate that Hammer, who makes £100k per week, will be released after IB.

Yesterday afternoon in the Premier League match between West Ham United and Newcastle United, Michail Antonio unexpectedly got the start.

It was unexpected for two reasons: 1) Michail Antonio has been sidelined for the past week due to injury, and 2) Mohammed Kudus, a West Ham newcomer, had been playing well, leading everyone to anticipate he would get his first Premier League start for the team.

The 33-year-old is a major favorite of Hammers manager David Moyes, and it makes sense why. Since the Scot took over the club for the second time in December 2019 (Transfermarkt), the forward has scored 48 goals for West Ham.

The striker for the Hammers actually had a strong start to the year. But now, he has lost his edge. And Kudus’s influence now can only imply one thing for Micky.

According to David Moyes’ remarks during the Newcastle game, Michail Antonio of West Ham would undoubtedly be dropped.
After our 2-2 draw with the Toon at the London Stadium yesterday, the Scot spoke to the media.

And as reported by WHUFC.com, Moyes answered as follows when asked by reporters to express his thoughts on Mohammed Kudus:

“I thought the subs today made a little bit of a difference, particularly Mo who gave us a fresh energy and then obviously also got us the equalizing goal, which helped us. We had our moments and learned a little from it when we used the ball a little better in the final 15 minutes. Mo was helpful in that regard, and we managed to score, so we were happy.”

Antonio, who makes almost £100k each week (according to Give Me Sport), wasn’t at all effective yesterday against Newcastle.

In reality, Kudus has to start replacing the Jamaican international on a regular basis because he hasn’t been in peak form for quite some time.

Mohammed Kudus’ importance for West Ham against Newcastle yesterday, when he replaced Michail Antonio, was specifically mentioned above by David Moyes.

He appears to have every tool necessary for that position, but he could also play anywhere along the front line or even in midfield.

Moyes must now consider the possibility of the Ghanaian manning the false 9 position for the Hammers in place of Antonio.
