According to a source, Alabama OL has reverse his decision not to…

On Saturday, Alabama’s offensive line depth for the Rose Bowl and the 2024 season improved. Or did it technically remain the same?

Less than 24 hours after announcing his intention to transfer, Elijah Pritchett changed his mind, announcing that he will remain in Tuscaloosa and bypass the transfer portal.

“It is not in my best interests to transfer.” I sincerely sorry for any inconvenience. I’m completely committed. “Go, Tide!” Pritchett emailed to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, who first reported Pritchett’s intention to explore the gateway on Friday night.

On Saturday, Alabama opened team practice, welcome a few mid-year prospects from the class of 2024 while studying the Wolverines ahead of the College Football Playoff Semifinal on Jan. 1. Pritchett is the UA’s second-string left tackle, trailing only freshman Kadyn Proctor.

Pritchett, a redshirt freshman, played in all 13 of Alabama’s games. He would share time with Proctor until October, when the Tide offensive line struggled to keep quarterback Jalen Hurts upright. Proctor eventually settled in, playing nearly every snap in the final two games against Auburn and the SEC Championship against Georgia.

A year ago, before the Sugar Bowl versus Kansas State, five offensive lineman left UA via the gateway. Pritchett would have been the first of this cycle. If center Seth McLaughlin (graduate) and JC Latham (NFL Draft) go, Alabama will need to replace at least two starters next season.

Only WR Ja’Corey Brooks has found a new home among the Alabama players who have entered the portal (excluding Pritchett): DL Anquin Barnes, DL Isaiah Hastings, WR Thaiu Jones-Bell, QB Tyler Buchner, and WR Ja’Corey Brooks.
