Aaron Rodgers sent Jordan Love a four-word message to get him pumped up before the Bears-Packers game

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love received a word of encouragement from an old coach before playing the biggest game of his young NFL career on Sunday.

Love and the Packers entered Week 18 needing only a win over the Chicago Bears to secure a postseason spot. According to a source, Love received some extra motivation before the game in the form of a text from Aaron Rodgers.

“It was just a little something,” Love explained to Breer. So, what was that something? “Go beat the Bears,” said the text. That’s exactly what Love did. As the Packers won 17-9, he completed 27 of 32 throws for 316 yards and two touchdowns.

Love is in his first year as the Packers’ starter after Rodgers left the team last summer after a 15-year reign. It’s a tough order to succeed an icon like Rodgers, but Love has proven himself capable. Following a shaky 2-5 start, the Packers won seven of their final ten games to make the playoffs, thanks in large part to Love’s better play.

In the first seven games of the season, he completed 57.7% of his throws for 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. His completion rate increased to 68.7% in the final ten games, with 21 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
