A significant signing for Leicester as they strive to reach new levels

Leicester City signed Saori Takarada from Linkopings FC this week. The 23-year-old midfielder and Japan international will be an important addition to the team.

She has previously performed at Washington Spirit and the Japanese club Cerezo Osaka Sakai. To date, he has 20 caps for Japan, demonstrating Leicester’s ambition to become a consistent performer in the WSL.

Willie Kirk, the head of the women’s team, is a man with a background and experience in taking women’s teams from one stage to the next, and will hopefully be able to lift Leicester out of the relegation zone with another good signing.

The key is to create a momentum with new players coming in from outside, while maintaining some stability and, most importantly, focusing on local players who can give women’s football a chance to be grounded and well established in the area, as there has been little or no tradition of this in the past.

This signing is a sign of growth and progress because we believe Saori Takarada will add quality to the midfield and, as a result, help the team win more football games. Takarada appears to be an offensive threat, having scored numerous goals for her previous teams. In 162 appearances, he scored 47 goals.

Leicester City are currently seventh in the table, but they still have a long way to go before they can say goodbye to the bottom half, with only four points separating them from the relegation zone, with West Ham and Bristol City in those positions.
