A point total is planned for Huddersfield Town’s upcoming run of Championship games

Prior to the upcoming international break in November, the Terriers will play three home games and two more away games, including the Yorkshire Derby.

The Terriers are working hard on the practice field in the hopes that their first extended period of time working with new manager Darren Moore will help them when the Championship season resumes on Saturday.

It feels like the perfect moment to look ahead to the next run of games and determine where Huddersfield Town should be trying to pick up points since the division will only have another brief stretch of five games before we enter yet another international break in the middle of November.

Remember that the goals we have set for each game are targets rather than forecasts, and that it is probably unrealistic to ask Town to remain unbeaten for the next five games. We’ll talk further about how far Town could reasonably deviate from its overall aim.

On Saturday, October 21, Queens Park Rangers will play Huddersfield Town. QPR’s Championship campaign thus far: 22, 8 points, W2, D2, L7.

The basic prerequisite for Town to stay afloat should be victories over the clubs behind them in the standings. Town will have ambitions to move more solidly into the mid-table pack as quickly as feasible. They recently defeated Rotherham 2-0, but they were only able to draw with Stoke at home and Sheffield Wednesday on the road.

It is even more crucial that they succeed against QPR because they have lost six straight games and have the joint-longest losing skid in the division (three games). Our sole word of caution is that seven of QPR’s eight points this season have come from away games, but even so, that record isn’t so impressive that we’re going to go against our gut. Three points are the goal.

Tuesday, October 24: Cardiff City at Huddersfield Town
Championship campaign thus far for Cardiff: 16 points – W5 D2 L4 – 8th –

Cardiff has emerged as one of the early-season surprises after struggling to finish at the bottom of the table the previous year. With high-flying Ipswich serving as the lone exception, Cardiff has recently gone on an impressive run of five wins in six games.

Erol Bulut’s team, though, will have been disappointed by their loss to a Middlesbrough team that was on the rise and by their home draw against a struggling Watford team right before the break.

In the end, the Terriers do need to improve their home record and should really be going for the win against a Cardiff team who have only taken four points from their five away trips so far this season.

We’d be curious to see how the Bluebirds do away to Blackburn before deciding a final target for Town. 3 points are the desired outcome, but if other goals are satisfied, 1 point might not be so bad.

Huddersfield Town will play Leeds United on October 28.
Leeds’s initial Championship campaign: 19 points, 5th place, W5 D4 L2

When seen objectively, getting anything going away to a freshly relegated team, sitting in fifth place, who appears to have recovered from a sluggish start to the season, and who is one of only four sides to maintain an unbeaten home record, is asking a lot for a team in Town’s position.

Everyone participating, however, will never be able to view this number objectively; instead, those who support the blue and white camp will be driven to get all three points. However, we’re going to attempt to be fair and state that a point would be extremely respectable while wearing our sensible hats. Target score: 1 point.

On Saturday, November 4, Watford will play Huddersfield Town in the Championship. W2 D4 L5 for 10 points, 20th.

Since January 2, Watford has not triumphed in a Championship match away from home, which explains a lot about why they have had such a difficult start to the year.

Did we anticipate Watford to perform better going into this campaign? Yes, but in this division reputations don’t matter, and given Town’s recent results, this is undoubtedly a matchup the team should want to win. Three points are the goal.

Saturday, November 11, Hull City vs. Huddersfield Town Hull’s first Championship campaign: 9. 17 points. W4. D5. L2.

Another team that hasn’t lost at home this season is Hull; in fact, when Town travels on the M62 eastbound, Hull will be trying to go 365 days without losing in the league at the MKM Stadium to a team other than last season’s overwhelming champions Burnley.

All things considered, Liam Rosenior’s Tigers have made themselves challenging to defeat first and foremost; as a result, they frequently draw games. Of their five home games this season, they have won one and tied four as of this writing. We wouldn’t mind if Town added one more win to that total. Target score: 1 point.

If these goals are met, Town would receive nine to eleven points from these games, which is a very respectable return. This is why we gave ourselves some wiggle room in the target for the Cardiff game since playing Cardiff and Leeds back-to-back in a span of five days is a challenging combination of matchups.

That’s the goal; at the very least, we want Town to gain seven points, which they will probably do by winning two of their home games and drawing one of their other three games. A bit more stability in Town’s performances is also desirable, as opposed to their erratic swings from excellent to terrible and everything in between.
