A duo of Eagles legends perform a showstopper at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia

Two Eagles icons attended WrestleMania and gave Philadelphia fans a reason to cheer in one of the night’s most important matches.

It was frigid. It did not matter. Regardless, the supporters flocked to Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles. They filled the house to watch WrestleMania, professional wrestling’s greatest event. The WWE did not disappoint and most definitely delivered the goods.

Stars were everywhere, including The Rock, Roman Reigns, and Jade Cargill. Heck, we saw Gunther’s Intercontinental Title reign come to an end, but the best for us was seeing two Eagles icons put on luchador masks and light up the night.

Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson deliver the assist to Rey Mysterio and Andrade in a celebration of modern luche libre.

We were teased for much of the week about an Eagles appearance at WrestleMania. We knew Jason Kelce had been requested to attend. Seeing the top right tackle work out with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins gave us the impression that Lane Johnson would join him.

We had our wishes granted. WrestleMania 40 provided the setting for a celebration of modern luche libre. Rey Mysterio and Andrade faced Santos Escobar and Dominik Mysterio. Things came to a head when two familiar people assisted Rey and company with some ‘outside interference’.

The result? The Hall of Famer, Rey, delivered a ‘619’ and a win for his LWO. Take a look.

Seriously… they could have called it a night after that. The first night of the biggest sports entertainment event was a huge success. Night two should be just as fun. We just hope it’s not as cold.
