A defender valued at €15 million is expected to leave Leicester City permanently

According to Sport Witness, Leicester City defender Victor Kristiansen is the subject of transfer negotiations between the Foxes and his loan team Bologna in preparation for a potential permanent departure from England in the near future.

The 20-year-old made a €14 million transfer to Leicester City in January, but after the club was demoted, Kristiansen was one of many players who left the organization, along with James Maddison and Harvey Barnes.

Kristiansen signed a loan agreement with Italian club Bologna toward the end of the summer transfer season, with the option to make the move permanent for €15 million.

To sign the player on a long-term deal with the club during the January transfer window, the Italian team is allegedly eager to negotiate with the Foxes about perhaps cutting the €15 million transfer cost.

Since joining the team on loan in the summer, Kristiansen has made five appearances for the team and contributed one assist, which came during the defender’s Serie A debut against Cagliari.

The Foxes are having a fantastic time being back in the Championship as they are now atop the standings after the first 11 games.

The weekend is when Leicester City, who are two points ahead of Ipswich Town at the top of the league, travel to Swansea City in an effort to make it 11 victories in their first 12 games.

Before Leicester City wins promotion back to the Premier League, Bologna apparently tries to lock Kristiansen into a long-term contract. This is due to their perception that the Foxes will undercut and outbid the Italian team, leaving them behind.

If Leicester City wins promotion back to the Premier League, it’s likely that the club will try to hold onto Kristiansen, which will understandably mean that Bologna won’t have his services beyond the current season.

But if they change their mind or the player indicates a desire to go, the Championship team would be forced to sell before things got out of hand.
