Indianapolis, IN –For Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Indianapolis Colts promoted linebacker Liam Anderson and wide receiver Ethan Fernea from the practice squad.
Anderson, who stands 6-3 and weighs 226 pounds, has spent the entire season on the team’s practice squad. On May 5, 2023, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Colts. Anderson had 231 tackles (148 solo), 37.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, 11 passes defensed, six interceptions (one returned for a score), two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 53 games (30 starts) at Holy Cross (2018-22). He was a two-time Patriot League First Team selection (2021-22).
Fernea, 6-0, 195 pounds, has spent time this season on the team’s main roster and practice squad. He played in Week 15 against Pittsburgh and Week 16 against Atlanta. Fernea spent time on Indianapolis’ active roster and practice squad as a rookie in 2022. In one game, he saw action. Fernea was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Colts on May 13, 2022. He played in 50 games (three starts) for UCLA (2016-21), catching eight passes for 155 yards (19.4 average) and two touchdowns. Fernea had ten carries for 83 yards (8.3 average) and one touchdown. He also had 12 tackles (nine of which were solo). His surname is spelled FIR-knee-uh.
