While there are still a few more players who may join Ohio State’s 2024 class, it’s never too early to start thinking about what the 2025 class might bring.

Here are five athletes the Buckeyes hope to sign in the upcoming recruiting class:

1. Devin Sanchez, CB, North Shore High School (Texas)

Sanchez appears to be the greatest bet on this list to become a Buckeye.

Sanchez, the No. 6 overall player in the 247Sports composite rankings, has a slew of crystal ball picks in favor of Ohio State. If the Buckeyes snag him, he’ll join an already stacked cornerback room that has recruited quite well over the last two cycles.

Sanchez plans to make his decision on January 6.

2. Micah DeBose, OT, C F Vigor High School (Alabama)

As the No. 26 overall player and No. 4 offensive tackle in the class, DeBose, a recent Georgia decommitment, is one of the more wanted players in the class. But, despite his southern roots, he grew up in Cleveland for the first few years of his existence. He has spent the majority of his time in Alabama.

Landing DeBose would mark a huge step forward for Ohio State in terms of acquiring an elite offensive lineman, something the club has failed to do in recent seasons.

3. Carter Lowe, OT, Whitmer High School (Toledo)

Lowe is on the list for the same reasons, as the No. 84 athlete and No. 9 offensive tackle has had interest from a number of institutions. The Toledo native is thinking about Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Adding Lowe to the class would not only boost the offensive line to parity with the rest of the attack, but it would also add another in-state player to the class.

4. Faheem Delane, S, Good Counsel High School (Maryland)

Given Ohio State’s numbers at safety, Delane would be a significant swing for the 2025 class.

Delane, a five-star player, the No. 24 overall player, and the No. 1 safety, comes from a good league in the Washington, D.C.-area and would make an immediate impact on the back end. The Buckeyes could use a player of his caliber in terms of both quality and quantity at the position in 2025 and beyond.

5. Christopher Burgess Jr., DE, Simeon High School (Illinois)

Burgess, the No. 147 overall player and No. 18 defensive lineman, will also commit on Jan. 6, giving the Buckeyes some much-needed depth up front.

Aside from any decisions made by current Ohio State defensive lineman, the room will appear drastically different beginning with the 2025 season. Burgess would help make up those numbers after taking in only two defensive line commits in the 2024 class.

Ohio State trending well for 2026 five-star quarterback

If you thought it was too early to consider the 2025 class, think again.

Jared Curtis, a five-star quarterback in 2026, has down his selection to six schools, including Ohio State, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, and Texas A&M.

Curtis, the No. 20 overall athlete and No. 2 quarterback in the 247Sports composite rankings, is a Tennessee native who attended Nashville Christian School. As a sophomore in high school, he has the necessary size to play quarterback at a high level at 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds. As if that weren’t enough, 247Sports recently predicted Curtis would wind up at Ohio State.

He’ll be a name to keep an eye on in the coming months as Ohio State looks to add to its 2026 class, which now includes only one player (wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.).
