Penei Sewell’s status has been improved on the Detroit Lions injury report
|The Detroit Lions are still a healthy club as the season nears its end, and they got a little healthier on Thursday.
Penei Sewell, right tackle, has been promoted to full practice participant, and his participation for the big game against the Minnesota Vikings is not in doubt. Sewell hasn’t missed a snap since his rookie season, but he’s been dealing with shoulder soreness this week and was held out on Wednesday as a result.
Sewell was chosen to the Pro Bowl last season, but has performed even better this year. According to Pro Football Focus, he has only allowed one sack all season and is the league’s top offensive lineman.
Center Frank Ragnow did receive some rest on Thursday, but he’s still scheduled to play in Minnesota, and what else would you expect from a guy who just played a week after having meniscus surgery?
As a result, the Lions are set to field their top offensive line in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
Cornerback The only players who did not practice on Thursday were Jerry Jacobs (hamstring) and tight end Brock Wright (hip). This week, neither has dressed.
