A defensive lineman from Alabama has entered the transfer portal
Anquin Barnes of Alabama entered the NCAA transfer portal Monday afternoon, according to a source.
Barnes is a third-year player from Montgomery, Alabama who missed the first two seasons due to injury. As a reserve, he appeared in two games this season, against Middle Tennessee State and Chattanooga.
Barnes was regarded as a four-star talent in the 2021 high school class and the 44th-best defensive lineman in the country by 247 Sports. He was also thinking about Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and Nebraska.
Barnes joins wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks and defensive lineman Isaiah Hastings as the third Alabama athlete to enter the NCAA football transfer portal this offseason. Furthermore, quarterback Tyler Buchner has accessed the NCAA lacrosse transfer site.
The NCAA football transfer portal started on December 4 and will stay open until five days after Alabama’s final game.
