Chris Olave, the New Orleans Saints’ standout wide receiver, has been freed from the hospital after suffering a concussion on Sunday.
The Saints proclaimed Olave’s good health a few hours after he was hurt.
Olave had previously been stretchered off the field and transported to the hospital after receiving a blow to the head/neck region during Sunday’s NFL Week 9 game against the Carolina Panthers.
Olave was injured in the first quarter while attempting to catch a ball from Derek Carr. Two Panthers defenders swarmed on the receiver, who collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness, according to Jeff Nowak of Audacy Sports.
Nowak stated that Olave was being transferred to the hospital for further evaluation, and that he had complete feeling in all of his extremities.
Olave, 24, is in his third NFL season. He has a history of concussions, having missed games twice before due to a head injury. To that purpose, Olave had considered wearing a Guardian Cap, but he did not wear one when he was injured against the Panthers on Sunday.
So far in 2024, Olave has caught 32 passes for 400 yards and 1 touchdown for the Saints.
