Rookie who could miss games due to injury missed practice again on Thursday, but two DBs returned
|Denzel Ward, a cornerback for the Browns who could miss games due to a shoulder injury, skipped practice on Thursday for the second day in a row as the team got ready for their game in Denver on Sunday.
Although Ward missed just two of the 58 defensive snaps in Sunday’s 13-10 victory over the Steelers, he had a shoulder injury.
Mike Ford Jr., Martin Emerson Jr., and Greg Newsome II will probably fill in as the third cornerback if Ward is unable to play. Due to rib and thumb issues, Ford was sidelined on Wednesday but returned to full strength on Thursday. Due to a calf issue, Newsome was limited on both days.
The Browns are assessing Ward’s condition, which may include damage to his labrum. Naturally, they’re hoping he won’t be absent for a long time. Following safety Rodney McLeod’s season-ending biceps tear during the game, he sustained another injury. He will soon have surgery after being put on injured reserve.
