After defeating the Washington Commanders 29-26 in the last seconds on Sunday, the Seattle Seahawks are now 6-3.

This season’s new players with experienced experience have contributed to the team’s struggle to take first position in the NFC West against the San Francisco 49ers.

A couple of these were addressed by the head coach on Monday’s Pete Carroll Show.

First up is Jason Peters, a 41-year-old right tackle who made his third appearance on the practice squad on Sunday and had a strong showing in 58 plays.

With reference to the probable future Hall of Famer, Carroll remarked, “You know, that’s a lot of plays, so he’s in it.” “I thought he looked great, played really well, and was very consistent.” played incredibly well in key moments, which is really beneficial to us.

But there’s a question regarding Peters’ future with the group. Abraham Lucas, who began the season as a rookie at right tackle and has continued in that capacity this year, is getting close to returning from a knee injury sustained in Week 1. As Peters can no longer be promoted to the practice squad, he must be added to the 53-man active roster in order to continue playing for the Seahawks.

“Jason stepping up like that was really helpful, but we’ll see how that goes. Abe is coming back this week to practice,” Carroll said.

Let’s now turn our attention to the defensive line. In the wake of Seattle Sports’ recent trade acquisition of former Pro Bowl defensive lineman Leonard Williams, Brock Huard of Seattle Sports told Carroll that he observed Dre Jones occupying a lot of space at defensive end during Sunday’s victory. Following four seasons with the Denver Broncos, Jones signed an offseason contract.

Carroll predicted that Jones, who plays at the end, will do so much more as they move forward. It’s a good combination for us because he has done that a lot in the past. He’s only now beginning. He will play a significant role for us in that regard, even though our style of play and the manner our lads are asked to perform it have changed slightly.

Injury and status updates

The Seahawks are “coming back this week in pretty darn good shape,” according to Carroll.

The most noteworthy injury issue is with Dareke Young, a special team player in his second year of wide receiver, who may have worsened a core ailment upon his return on Sunday.

Although it wasn’t serious, Carroll stated, “We’re a little concerned about Dareke. He had a little something happen, might have been some scar tissue issue.”

Carroll went on to say that he anticipates guard Anthony Bradford returning after missing the game on Sunday.

“He should be able to leave and return later. Carroll stated, “I’m not sure for sure because I haven’t seen him yet, but he had a personal family matter to attend to, so he should be in good shape to compete.”

The Seahawks’ chances of winning a division title will be tested by a demanding stretch of games ahead of them. After just three practice days to prepare for a pivotal Thanksgiving showdown against the 49ers, they go to play the 3-6 Los Angeles Rams, who defeated Seattle in Week 1. A second straight Thursday game against the 6-3 Dallas Cowboys is scheduled for the following week, and on December 10th, there will be another away game against San Francisco. Oh, and the home game on December 17 against the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles is the next week.
