SPECIAL TEAMS – THIS WEEK
Here is a look at who played on special teams this weeks game, ordered by amount of snaps played. We will only show players that played at least one special teams snap here. To see who has played none or the total across the entire team scroll to the end of the article.
QUARTERBACKS
Watson gets back over 50% of snaps for the season, if he would have missed this week then Walker would have out snapped him on the season so far.

RUNNING BACKS
This was the first game where they Watson was in and they weren’t giving him several plays a game without a running back on the field. There were times when it was empty and Hunt was out wide but it is an interesting change and one to follow the next few weeks.

WIDE RECEIVERS
A significant drop in wide receiver usage this game as they went from a 2.72 average on the season down to 2.34. If Bell is back it will be interesting to see the split between Bell and Tillman to see who gets the most snaps as they have lent on Bell for key moments more this season.

TIGHT ENDS
They seem to have used Akins to fill some of those snaps that DPJ leaving has opened up. I wonder if we will see him continue at 20% across the rest of the season.

OFFENSIVE LINE
You like to keep a consistent offensive line through the season but that has not been an option for Cleveland this season with nine different players getting meaningful time. I would expect to see Hudson at left tackle against the Ravens. Last week he has looked good, so hopefully he can keep providing serviceable play.

EDGES
This was the first game of the season where Okoronkwo out snapped Smith, this is likely to them giving the depth players getting a big opportunities later on. McGuire got his first snaps for the season, it would be good to know the breakdown of when these 15 happened and if they were more late on or spread through the game.

DEFENSIVE TACKLES
I’m not sure if Elliott picked up a knock but he saw a drop this week, it wasn’t a massive change but it tends to be 60% Tomlinson and then 40% of the other three.

LINEBACKERS
For the third week on the trot we are looking at the drop in snaps for Owusu-Koramoah. He was a key part of Schwartz rotation for the first six weeks and since that he has been moved more to a rotational piece rather than a key starter. Several times in the game I was looking at the linebacker tandem and seeing him not on the field. The snaps seem to be heading to Fields from JOK which is good for his future with the team through his rookie deal.

CORNERBACKS
The more I see Mitchell play the less I worry about a Newsome trade this upcoming offseason, especially if you can get a late second round pick. The issue is going to be if you get an injury to Ward or Emerson. They can keep adding talent to the position but Mitchell and Ford give you nice depth in the slot.

SAFETIES
Considering the safeties tend to play 100% of snaps, it is likely from the 43 snap point in the game that the defensive starters were taken out of the game.
