The Atlanta Braves plan to add this winter.

Atlanta did not make a deep run this year, which was due in large part to the slew of injuries that occurred throughout the season. Now, the Braves must figure out how to add even more firepower to their lineup.

Who will it be? Anything may happen at this time. Free agency is soon approaching, and the trade market will also heat up. Will the Braves be significantly involved? It would not be shocking.

Anthony Franco of MLB Trade Rumors suggests that Los Angeles Angels slugger Taylor Ward could be a trade candidate.

“Whether they embrace a short-term reset or look to balance the (Major League Baseball) roster without dealing from one of the league’s worst farm systems, there’s a case for moving Taylor Ward,” Franco told ESPN. “The 30-year-old left fielder has been the focus of trade talk since last offseason…

“(The Pittsburgh Pirates) and (the Kansas City Royals) may rekindle their interest…Other teams that could hunt for corner outfield help this winter include the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Braves, Toronto Blue Jays, and San Diego Padres.

Ward appeared in 156 games for the Angels in 2024, hitting 25 home runs and driving in 75 runs. In 2023, he hit 14 home runs in 97 games, compared to 23 in 2022. The 30-year-old is expected to earn more than $8 million in 2025. Atlanta might use someone like him, so a trade could make sense.
