Nottingham Forest’s strong start to the season has placed the Reds comfortably in the top half of the standings.

Forest will have another chance for three points on Sunday after winning their first two games away from the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo must be pleased with his team’s early start to the new season, as they already have eight points.

However, the Reds have already suffered a number of troubling injuries.

Nuno has issued an injury update ahead of the weekend’s clash on the south coast, as Forest try to continue their unbeaten start.

And one player has been making improvements behind the scenes.

Nuno Espirito Santo provides Willy Boly injury update

Willy Boly began the season opener against Bournemouth but has only played a minute in the following three games.

The centre-back had a brief appearance in the game against Southampton, with Nuno eager to secure the three points.

However, he was unable to play against Liverpool this weekend due to an injury sustained while on international duty.

Nuno issued an update on Boly’s injury status on Friday, ahead of Forest’s trip to the Amex Stadium.

“The same players are out. [Willy] Boly is very close to joining the group. Unfortunately, Ibrahim Sangare and Danilo are out for a long,” he told BBC Sport.

Although Boly will not be available for the game against Brighton, this is a significant boost for those at Forest.

Nottingham Forest could maintain unbeaten start

Few people would have anticipated Forest to go unbeaten in their first four games.

Something is clearly working for the Reds on the road, as they have won both of their games away from home.

Forest will also have a few more days off than the Seagulls, since Brighton played in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

However, Nuno’s men’s fantastic start has relieved the Reds of any pressure heading into this weekend.
