Derby County manager Paul Warne says Sheffield United’s strong start to the new season does not’surprise’ him.

Sheffield United play the Rams this weekend, hoping to maintain their momentum.

The Blades were relegated from the Premier League earlier this year, finishing in the bottom three alongside Burnley and Luton Town.

They’ve adjusted nicely to life back in the second division, though. According to DerbyshireLive, Warne stated, “When you’re relegated from the Premier League, everything falls apart. As soon as the season ends, the new campaign begins, and before you know it, pre-season is underway. When the transfer window opens and you can change things around and let certain folks leave, it helps. They’ve made some excellent acquisitions thus far.

“I’m not surprised they’re doing so well. Alan Knill and Chris Wilder are two of my favorite members of their coaching team. They are quite kind folks who have done fantastic work throughout their careers. They enjoyed unrivaled success in their first tenure there, and the fact that they’ve returned to Sheffield United and begun the season so brilliantly shouldn’t surprise anyone.

“They have a pretty excellent team, but they are also very well-coached, and you need both to be successful. They will undoubtedly have a fantastic season, but these are the games we want to play in.

Sheffield United in good spirits

Sheffield United recruited well this summer, signing Callum O’Hare, Kieffer Moore, Harry Souttar, and Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, among others.

They also managed to keep crucial players like Gus Hamer, Anel Ahmedhodzic, and Vini Souza in the past transfer window, which was a significant gain.

The Blades’ goal is to gain immediate promotion back to the top flight, and they have a manager in Chris Wilder who has done so in the past.

Sheffield United are in sixth place in the table after five games.

They have yet to lose in this campaign, winning three and drawing twice.

Wilder’s men triumphed 2-0 away at Hull City last time out, thanks to goals from Hamer and Sam McCallum, and it was a relatively comfortable evening for them at the MKM Stadium.

Sheffield United have recovered from relegation and now appear to be one of the strongest teams.

As Warne mentioned, it’s not surprising that they’ve done well this term, and they’re in a confident mindset right now.

Derby County, on the other hand, will not take them lightly and are in good form.

They won 1-0 at home against Cardiff City last weekend.
